Our annual Christmas Holiday Luncheon was a great success and was sprinkled with holiday joy by having the Dartmouth basketball team and Elmer Lampe bring their good cheer to the Pittsburgh Dartmouth alumni. Many fathers o£ the men now attending Dartmouth also attended the luncheon. Dr. Erdman Harris, Headmaster of Shadyside Academy, spoke on the topic of "Fast and Slow Starters." His example of a slow starter was Albert Einstein, and men like him, who did not begin developing great theories until middle-aged.
Elmer Lampe gave a brief talk on the Dartmouth basketball team's prospects for this year which are just average at the present time. Emil Hudak, captain of the basketball team, also spoke on the prospects of this year's basketball team and showed that the old Dartmouth spirit is definitely back.

For the first time in many years the Dartmouth basketball team penetrated the hills of Western Pennsylvania to play Duquesne University on December 30. The game was played at Farrell, Pa., and many alumni from Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown, and other parts of Ohio and Pennsylvania were at the game. The Dartmouth team looked pretty hot for the first fifteen points but then Dahler, the star of the Duquesne team, started shooting and he never missed. A factor which did not help in the latter part of the game was that Duquesne's second team was much better than ours. For those who don't know, Dartmouth lost 51-79. However, it was great fun giving a Wah-Who-Wah for Dartmouth again, eating pop-corn, and needling Duquesne rooters sitting all around us.
