When the ALUMNI MAGAZINE got in touch with Bob Rodgers '42 in New York inviting him to write this "profile" of Pat Weaver, the answer came back: "Are you sure you want me to do it? I am now with the NBC press department."

Before joining the NBC staff, Bob was with WPIX, television station of the New York Daily News. He took that position in 1948 upon returning to this country from a long hitch in Europe, where he was chief of the Frankfurt news bureau of Stars and Stripes and correspondent for the London DailyTelegraph. During the war he served with the 99th Infantry Division and was wounded in action at Remagen. He then was transferred to the Ist Division as Public Relations Officer and in that capacity was at Nuremberg during the trials.

During the period between graduation and entering the service in 1943, Rodgers was a reporter for the Manchester (N. H.) Union, a paper he covered as an undergraduate member of the Dartmouth Press Club.
