PROF. Roy B. Chamberlin, co-editor of The Dartmouth Bible, has presented one of the manuscripts of this volume to the Baker Library. The gift was made through the Friends of the Dartmouth Library.
The manuscript of the late Prof. Herman Feldman of Tuck School, also a coeditor, is now in the hands of the New York Public Library. A third copy is with the Houghton Mifflin Company which published The Dartmouth Bible last fall.
The Chamberlin gift comprises ten loose leaf binders containing a typescript of the Bible together with notes, handwritten corrections, and other comments. Passages cut from the King James version and pasted on loose leaf sheets are paralleled with original notes, citations, and other references. There is also a specially-typed introduction, written by Dr. Chamberlin explaining how the manuscript was prepared and describing the ten years of labor involved in the production of the 700-page volume, which has received widespread critical acclaim.
