A third edition of Flowering Plants andVegetables by Prof.-Charles J. Lyon has recently appeared.

Prof. Francisco Ugarte is the author of Unamuno y el Quijotismo which appears in the January issue of The Modern Language Journal.

The Library recently received a copy of DieFarm in Den Greumen Bergen by Alice Herdan published by Europa Verlag, Zurich and Viennaj-a book Of 322 pages. The author is the wife of Carl Zuckmayer, the well-known German playwright. Mr. and Mrs. Zuckmayer escaped from Nazi persecution in Germany to Austria, and finally were forced to flee Austria, and came to Barnard, Vermont, at the invitation of Dorothy Thompson. Two years ago Mr. Zuckmayer was called back to Germany by the U.S. government to work for the German theater. The Farm on the Green Mountains gives a humorous, but true account of the life of the Zuckmayer family on their Vermont farm which was practically inaccessible by automobile during the winter months. Mrs. Zuckmayer came to the Baker Library at least once a week during their sojourn in Barnard to do research work for her husband and later for herself. Three chapters in this book of special interest to the Dartmouth family are "Der Weg sur Bibliothek, "Die Bibliothek" and "Vox Clamantis in Deserto." Translations into English from a portion of these chapters appear in the current number of the LibraryBulletin.
