Everett Moore Baker, August 28, 1901 August 31, 1950, has been privately printed in New York. This is a volume of 140 pages containing tributes made by various people to Mr. Baker, Dartmouth '24, who was killed in a tragic manner August 31, 1950. Besides the various tributes to Mr. Baker the volume contains several addresses and papers by him. Among these are an address at the 100 th anniversary of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity, New York City, December 29, 1947, and the baccalaureate address at Dartmouth College, June 13, 1949.
NROTC COMMISSIONING: After the graduation exercises in the Bema on June 17, twenty-five members of the Class of 1951 had a second ceremony in the 1902 Room of Baker Library when they received com- missions upon successful completion of the four-year NROTC course. Shown administering the oath is Captain Willard M. Sweetser, USN, commanding officer of the Dartmouth Unit. Five of the men became Second Lieutenants in the Marine Corps and the others became Ensigns in the Navy or Naval Reserve. The Navy men were assigned to ships at sea for further training, the Marines to Marine Corps School.
