Seven Glasses Adopt Bequests Resolution
July 1951

A MONG the classes which held reunions A last month, seven classes 25 or more years out of college adopted a resolution endorsing the principle of having every member of the class make provision for the College in his estate plans. This action follows a precedent established last year when the classes of 1914, 1915 and 1925 adopted a similar resolution at their June reunions. To the Class of 1925 goes the honor of being the first class" officially to adopt such a resolution.

The classes taking action last month Were 1891, 1901, 1911, 1920, 1921, 1922 and 1926.

On being informed of the action taken by these classes Nichol M. Sandoe '19, chairman of the Alumni Council Committee on Bequests, commented, "It is gratifying to note the action of these classes. Bequests have traditionally been one of the main sources of permanent endowment on which Dartmouth has grown to its present stature. This official indication by these classes of a desire to have all members make provision for the College in their estate plans gives heartening assurance of adequate support to the endowment of the College for the long-range future."
