As most of the class no doubt know, my mother died three weeks after father's death. At Robert Lincoln O'Brien's suggestion I am going to carry on, as best I can, father's class activities. I hope you will all send me news of yourselves and your families, for our class column.
A fine letter from Mr. O'Brien tells the sad news that Ned Tewksbury's eyesight has completely failed and he can no longer read. However, the doctor holds out some hope of at least partially recovered sight.
The O'Briens spent the month of July at the Hanover Inn and then spent some time in Randolph, N. H. From there they went to meet their daughter Miriam and her family when they arrived in New York on the QueenMary. The grandsons by now are back at Exeter.
Edward Lord made the trip from New Jersey to Hanover very comfortably and then went on to Maine where he spent the summer at the old family home in Limington, where his children were able to visit him frequently.
