Twenty-five Westchester County freshmen entering Dartmouth College this fall were entertained by the Dartmouth Club of Westchester at a smoker held at the Shenorock Shore Club, Rye, N. Y„ in June. Over 100 members of the Club, alumni, and fathers of the freshmen were present to greet these members of the Class of 1957.

Cocktails and dinner were followed by a short business meeting. Guest speakers were Justin A. Stanley '33, Vice President of the College, and Frank Graham, sports columnist of the New York Journal American. The Alumni Glee Club of New York sang several Dartmouth songs during and after dinner.

Roald A. Morton '34, retiring president, summarized club activities during the year, most notable of which was the sponsorship of the Benefit Hockey Game between Dartmouth and Yale at which $2400 was raised for the new artificial rink. Mr. Morton announced that the first recipient of the Dartmouth-Westchester Scholarship is Frank A. Bruni of 10 Fifth Street, White Plains. This scholarship, endowing the recipient for four years, was set up last winter with an anonymous gift of $37,000. It was also made known that a small group of club members are underwriting a second scholarship. The aim of the group is to provide $1,000 a year for four years to a Westchester boy, with the Club as a whole gradually assuming the financing of the scholarship.

New officers of the Club elected at this meeting are Edwin B. Dooley '26, president; Arthur E. Allen '32, vice president; and Charles Cleveland '45, secretary and treasurer. New directors are Roald A. Morton '34, William C. Glover '18, Carl Ray '37, Harry H.Enders '29, and Paul Gifford '35.

Sigurd S. Larmon '14 was awarded a special trophy as the man who has done the most for Dartmouth in Westchester. Past presidents of the club, Jay C. Whitehair '32, Harold Sherman Jr. '29, and Roald A. Morton '34 were presented with Paul Revere bowls as tokens of their devotion and hard work which has resulted in a strong organization about which Dartmouth in Westchester can rally.
