Letters from the classmates are ccming in bringing us up-to-date on their famlies and activities.

Joe and Lila Ryan live at 14 Ellery St., Cambridge, Mass. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary October 29, 1952. The Ryan Family have been in the Dartmouth column pretty often with Stephen Ryan graduating '25, Jean Ryan graduatirg Smith '28 and Radcliffe '30, and Joseph Hansn Ryan Dartmouth '27. Stephen and Jean lve with their family and Joseph Ryan lives at Sandy Valley Rd., Dedham, Mass. with Joes granddaughter Judith. Joe was for a greit manyyears in the school supply business and one of the products this company made wis called a "Jungle Gym" used in playgrounds tar small children. I bought one of these and want to give Joe's company a "plug" for this gadget sort of a negative "plug." "I aint had a single kick about it from any mothe: during the five years of use." This is the only thing that I have bought for kids that hasn't been kicked about enough almost to kick them to pieces instead of letting the kids do it.

This article shows a snapshot taken by Edna Christophe at our reunion fron left to right: Christophe, J. D. Brown, Kelt), Ryan and Rowe. It is interesting to note that Christophe and Rowe were on the track team and Kelly and Ryan on the football team Brown didn't participate in athletics.

"Jigger" Pender sends in the facs about himself in a short note. Wish he wodd write an 11-page letter like Sibley did. The satistical facts are: "Jigger" and Lilian live at p Wyatt Rd., Garden City, New York. One son and one grandson, Michael Sr. and Junior, live at 5245 39th Ave., Long Island City. Horace says he is a lawyer still in active practice.

Hermon and Marion Holt live at 45 Pleasant St., Newton Centre, Mass. Th;y have always lived there since they were narried, and I think the rest of us have all mo%ed from our first residences. Their son Heriron Holt 3rd lives in Pennington, N. J. They fave two daughters Coral L. and Barbara T, and one son Robert W. This completes th? family at Pennington. "Cap" says he is still in practice of law and fools with pictures bf means of a Leica Camera and Kodachrome flm, and has had some wonderful results phoographing the Cypress Gardens in South Carolina. "Cap" reports that he has seen "Sport' Morse and Temp lately and also writes that HarryChase is in the hospital still and not very well.

The lawyers use the term "practcing of law." Engineers can't practice "of sonething" because if they vary too much and tie buildings are loaded the damn things vill fall down. We can't practice with our activities. We've got to be right the first time. There is no appeal in the matter of stresses or strain, and only a little fooling with the factors of safety even if Bobby Fletcher did tell is when we were in Thayer School that he had exmixture amined some old wood bridges that seemed to be standing up by sheer force of habit.

John Henderson writes me that on his way back from our class reunion he figured out a sermon on the basis of how old we looked at the cemetery and how youthful at the banquet. He hopes to type out this sermon some time and send it around and wants to give it the title, "Why Grow Old?" I want to thank John for the last sentence in his letter. I quote, "I want to tell you how much I like the notes about our class, as you give them in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. May your good work continue." Thanks, John.

Winfield and Lucy Temple live at 149 Main St., Marlborough, Mass., and spend long summer vacations at their camp in Hudson which is only about 15 minutes ride from Marlborough. "Temp" is .still a special judge of the District Court of Marlborough and also sits in Framingham and Concord. "Temp's" two sons are in law practice with him; W. Leroy '23 lives on Boston Post Rd., Marlborough, and Richard S. lives at 49 E. Main St., Marlborough. Temple has three grandsons: Lt. David 8., son of Leroy, 23 years old, presently stationed at Camp Roberts in California, where he is teaching. Last May he was married to a Lima, 0., girl. Richard W. is 9 years old and Theodore G. is 6 years old, both children of Richard. Temple says having the grandchildren with him at camp keeps him young and busy.

Other letters have been received from ErdixSmith, Sibley (in 11 pages), Christophe, Hilton, Johnson and Ward, which will be reported in another article.
