During the years 1896-1900 there were 188 men enrolled as members of the Class of 1900. But of this number three never appeared in Hanover for registration; two registered but remained for a few days only; five entered with 1900, but were graduated with other classes and preferred affiliation with such classes; 12 were temporarily enrolled with 1900, but really belonged to other classes; one was graduated with 1900, but maintained exclusive affiliation with the class with which he entered; a total of 23. Deducting these 23 from 188 leaves 165 which is the number we have counted as members of the 1900 fellowship.

Gafforio disappeared in 1926 from the Worcester State Hospital at which he had been an inmate for 17 years. Since 1926 no trace of him has been found. He is believed to be dead and is so recorded in our records. Our efforts to locate him were extensive and included contacts in Genoa (his birthplace in Italy), South America and Florida. Hoyt was for several years marked "lost" on our records and probably dead. Miss Ford, Alumni Recorder, insisted that such a recording might prove to be premature. Sure enough, in December 1944 he appeared in Hanover and visited the Thayer School but did not call on L. B. It was afterwards learned that he was living in Springfield, Mass., under an assumed name. He died April 30, 1946. After diligent and continued search made about ten years ago, four others, whose addresses had not been known to us for several years, were located.

As of recent date 55 of our roster of 165 are living. None of them have the word "lost" after their names. Of the 110 deceased members of the Class we have the addresses (up to 23 after long effort) of widows; (104 other relatives) most of whom maintain close affiliation with the Class, and only 20 of whom are listed as "disinterested." In so far as we have been able to ascertain, no close relative of any of these (out of our 110 deceased) is living—Gafforio, Leonard, Merrill, Murray,H. W. Richardson.

The present permanent residence distribution of the 55 living is as follows: In Massachusetts, Boston and nearby, 14; Worcester, 3; Springfield, 1; Southeast Massachusetts, 1; New Hampshire, 8; Vermont, 3; Maine, 3; Connecticut, 2; Province of Quebec, 2; New York City and nearby, 6; Washington (D. C.), 2; Florida, 2; Illinois, 3; Wyoming, 1; Washington, 2; Oregon, 1; California, 1.

In a previous issue we referred to trips to California. We did the Fowlers an injustice because it develops that they flew back, arriving in Washington about September 10. A letter reporting this fact was not given to your Secretary in time to complete the record.

Also Mrs. Frank Howe reports a trip to the West Coast in July.

At this writing the Bigelows are on their way to St. Petersburg for the winter. The Cristys plan to go to St. Petersburg in January.

Secretary, LEONARD W. TUTTLE Larchraont, N. Y.
