HAROLD M. SHERMAN JR. '29, vice president of the Guaranty Trust Co. of New York, was elected president of the General Alumni Association at the annual meeting of the Association on June 20, which was one of the highlights of the alumni reunion weekend.
The two vice presidents of the General Association for 1953-54 be Horace F. Taylor Jr. '23 of Buffalo, N. Y., and Martin J. Remsen '14, of Etna, N. H. Sidney C. Hayward '26, Secretary of the College, was reelected secretary-treasurer.
Carleton Blunt '26 of Chicago will again serve as chairman of the Association's executive committee and hold ex-officio membership on the Alumni Council. Working with him on the executive committee will be David S. Austin '04, of Canaan, N. H.; Joseph W. Gannon '99, New York City; Phillips. M. Van Huyck '24, Ridgewood, N. J.; Herbert S. Talbot '25, Natick, Mass.; Robert A. Miller '44, Milford, 0., and Scott C. Olin '50, Hartsdale, N. Y.
The meeting of the General Association on June 20 was presided over by Donald C. McKinlay '37, of Denver, Colo., vice president during the past year. At the Commencement meeting of the General Association, held a week earlier, Myles J. Lane '28 of New York City, president for 1952-53, was the presiding officer.
