As part of a program to improve alumni organization and "to get more, and better, boys from the South to go to Dartmouth," the Regional Conference held in Atlanta, Ga., November 6-7, favored as a first step the distribution of a directory of alumni living in the South. Joseph H. Lane '21, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Alumni Council representative from the Southeast, is in charge of the "Dartmouth in Dixie" program. The directory has been mailed to some 1100 alumni living in that area.
The new directory, which was produced through the office of the Secretary of the College, lists names and addresses of men living in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. It is hoped that alumni when traveling will find it useful for looking up Dartmouth men who might be cut off geographically from participating in organized club activities.
As a result of the Southwestern. Regional Conference, held in Dallas, November 13-14, it is expected that next year a Directory of Southwestern alumni will similarly be published.
