William A. Eddy, M.A. '34, who was an English professor at Dartmouth from 1928 to 1936, is the author of F.D.R. Meets Ibn Saud, published April 15 by the American Friends of the Middle East (47 East 67th Street, New York 21, N. Y.). This is a first-hand documentary account by the only American who knows what happened between these two national leaders. Colonel Eddy, the first U. S. Minister Plentipotentiary to Saudi Arabia, was the sole translator at the momentous meeting in the Suez Canal. Neither President Roosevelt nor King Ibn Saud ever broke his silence about their meeting. Colonel Eddy's book now reveals what took place and what was said.
