ELECTIONS to the Dartmouth Alumni Council for two-year terms, 1955-57, were announced last month by Sidney C. Hayward '26, secretary. Nominations closed March 10 for Council vacancies occurring on June 30 of this year. As a result of nominations by alumni clubs, positions are being filled without contest in the seven districts of the country as follows:
DISTRICT I (New England States): E. Spencer Miller '31 of Portland, Me., relected for a second term of two years: and Charles H. Kent '10 of Holyoke, Mass., first term of two years, succeeding Edward Winsor '24 of Providence, R. I.
DISTRICT II (Middle Atlantic States): John H. Davis Jr. '25 of Newark, N. J., and Robert L. Paterson '36 of Rochester, N. Y., both reelected for a second term of two years.
DISTRICT III (Central States): Kenneth F. Montgomery '25 of Chicago, first term of two years, succeeding Henry S. Embree '30 of Chicago.
DISTRICT IV (Middlewestern States): Leon L. Freeman '23 of Racine, Wis., and John B. Faegre Jr. '33 of Minneapolis, both reelected for a second term of two years.
DISTRICT V (Southern States): Charles T. Garnsey '20 of Miami, first term of two years, succeeding Joseph H. Lane '21 of Chattanooga; and Clarence V. Opper '18 of Washington, D. C., first term of two years, succeeding Percy H. Russell Jr. '29 of Washington.
DISTRICT VI (Southwestern States): William B. Head '27 of Houston, first term of two years, succeeding John L. Ferguson '15 of Tulsa; and Norris E. Williamson '26 of Denver, first term of two years, succeeding Everett H. Parker '16 of Denver.
DISTRICT VII (Western States): Leon I. Rothschild '24 of Los Angeles, reelected for a second term of two years.
