Spurred on by a visit to Mexico by Doug Storer '21, president of Ripley's Believe It Or Not, Inc., the first meeting of the Dartmouth Club of Mexico City was held at the Hotel Reforma on May 6. Hazel and Doug Storer were on their way back from a fact-finding trip to South and Central America, and upon reaching Mexico City they gathered together all the Dartmouth people they could reach. Regular meetings are being planned for the future.

In addition to the original Club members shown in the picture above, there were present: Mr. and Mrs. John B. Pike '27, Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Fisher '32 and Mr. and Mrs. Clark R. Fletcher Jr. '38.

During their 15,000-mile trip, the Storers met other Dartmouth men, including: Grosvenor A. Blood '34, Joseph M. Kipe Jr. '41, John Phelps Jr. '45, and Francisco J. Garcia-Romero, in Venezuela; John C. Ward '33, in Panama; H. Franklin Irwin Jr. '37, in Honduras; and Robert C. Dorion '47, James A. Clark '49 and Ismar L. Stahl '50, in Guatemala.

The Dartmouth Club of Mexico's first meeting, held in the Hotel Reforma, was attended by(l to r): Doug Storer '21, Clark Blyth '28 and Mrs. Blyth, Robert Bryant 39 and Mrs. Bryant,Mrs Storer, Albert Schumacher '31 and Mrs. Schumacher, and an unidentified guest.
