The Dartmouth varsity track team opened its dual season by being trounced 88½ to 20½ by Cornell. Against such a strong Cornell team at Ithaca the Big Green could show little. Injuries and sickness to some extent were responsible for the worst drubbing in recent years, but even at full strength Dartmouth could not have done much better. Only first-place winner for the Big Green was Mickey Stultz who annexed the 60-yard dash. Captain Walt Clarkson garnered second place in the mile ran. Pete Jebsen finished second in the 600 as did Ted Storrs in the 1000, while Lou Metzger tied for second in the pole vault with a leap of is feet six inches. Otherwise Cornell had a field day and the Indians with Army, Harvard and Brown remaining on the dual schedule are in for what appears to be a hard winter.
