The Dartmouth Cup Races, a high school giant slalom race, was held Sunday, April 24, at Arapahoe Basin under the direction of Newc Eldridge '50; and President Neil F. Roberts '35 presented the Dartmouth Cup to South High School's champion team, which nosed out East High School, last year's winner. This annual affair draws entries from high schools throughout the state on both the Eastern and Western Slopes and is growing in interest each year.
At our monthly luncheon meeting on April 29. Will F. Nicholson '22, president of A. D. Wilson & Co. and one of the leading candidates in the coming election for Mayor of the City of Denver, gave us a most interesting talk on his platform and local politics in general.
In the recent college elections, Gerry Samuelson '55 from South Denver High School was elected Head Class Marshall, Joseph B. Blake '58 from East Denver High School was elected president of the Sophomore Class and Monte Pascoe '57, also from East Denver High School, was elected to Green Key.
On April 24, the College and our Colorado Association suffered a great loss in the death of Rodney D. Coit '54, who was killed in an automobile accident just south of the Wyoming state line. He did much for Dartmouth, her alumni and his classmates, and his memory will aid our admission workers to send men of his caliber to Dartmouth in the future.
On June 29, starting at 3 P. M., we will have our Annual Picnic at the farm of Ned Grant '30 at Littleton, Colo., and if any of you are within hailing or flying distance of Denver, don't miss this one, as it is one of the best.
