Last spring a luncheon was held in Lima to get together the Dartmouth men residing in Peru. A photograph was taken to commemorate the occasion and show the eight who attended.

The luncheon took on a dual purpose when it became known that our most distinguished Dartmouth alumnus in the country, the Hon. Ellis O. Briggs '21, U.S. Ambassador to Peru, had been appointed U.S. Ambassador to Brazil. This gave us a motive for an additional toast to wish him the best in his new post.

From the favorable response voiced by all present, it is highly probable that the event will be repeated from time to time, even though no definite program was laid out.

Alumni present at a Dartmouth luncheon in Lima, Peru, on May 14 were (l to r) Frank D. Mott '49, Ralph T. Maynard '31, James H. Drumm Jr. '45, Walter H. Gussenhoven '34, Gordon K. McCoun '39, U.S. Ambassador Ellis O. Briggs '21, Henry Dearborn '36 and Herbert W. Hands '35.
