Alumni Recorder Creates A Change in '26 Records And in Our Masthead
March 1956

IN THIS ISSUE the DARTMOUTH ALUMNI MAGAZINE carries an important change in its masthead. Our Alumni Editor, formerly Miss Charlotte Egan Ford, now appears there as Charlotte Ford Morrison, for on February 2 she became the wife of Hugh S. Morrison '26, Professor of Art.

Mrs. Morrison is Alumni Recorder of the College, in which role she has for some years been in the thick of Dartmouth alumni affairs, acquiring not only a host of Dartmouth friends but also a greater knowledge of alumni whereabouts and doings than is possessed by any other College officer.

A graduate and former trustee of Simmons College, Mrs. Morrison is prominent in civic affairs in Hanover and the state. She is especially active in the League of Women Voters and is past state president. She is presently chairman of the Hanover Finance Committee, a member of the Governor's Committee for the United Nations, a member of the New Hampshire Library Commission, and director of the New Hampshire Council on World Affairs.

Professor Morrison, who shares these civic interests, has been a member of the Dartmouth Art Department since 1932. After taking his Master's degree at Princeton he taught for five years at the University of Chicago, where his father, the late Henry C. Morrison '95, was professor of education. Professor Morrison is the author of several books and many articles on the history of architecture. He is a member of the College's Committee on Educational Program Planning, the Committee on Plant Development, and the Committee Advisory to the President. He is chairman of the Hanover Town Planning Board and a member of the New Hampshire Association of Planning and Zoning Officials.

Professor and Mrs. Morrison are making their home at 1 Weatherby Road in Hanover.
