Frank J. O'Gara '23 (right) has been appointed Director of the U.S. General Services Administration's Region 4, an assignment which covers seven states in the Southeast. In the photo he is being sworn in by Judge E.P. Tuttle.

Formerly a department store executive with R.H. Macy and Company, O'Gara retired last July after thirty years with Macy's in Atlanta and Augusta, Ga., Toledo and New York. For the past 22 years he has been with Davison-Paxon Company of Atlanta, in Macy's Southeastern Division, where he was general manager upon his retirement.

A major task of the General Services Administration is the operation of regional store depots which furnish Federal agencies with supplies and equipment. In addition to invaluable experience in this area of business, O'Gara's background includes building management and the handling of the innumerable records necessary to modern department store operation.

Active in civic affairs in Atlanta, O'Gara has served as president of the Exchange Club and Travelers' Aid Society. He has also been a director of the First National Bank and Trust Company of Augusta.

In his new position with GSA, the states under his direction will include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North and South Carolina and Tennessee.
