DARTMOUTH'S ever-mobile student body accelerated itself into top speed on March 24 and disappeared, mostly to the south, for fifteen days of spring vacation. Among the groups ing an organized exodus were the rugby men, headed for Bermuda, and the baseball, golf and tennis teams, off on their annual southern trips. The crew had two destinations - Maryland and Connecticut - and the Glee Club, delaying one week but going the farthest, was humming "California, here I come."
Behind them the students left a deep blanket of snow that had fallen on Hanover in twelve-inch lots the week before vacation began. By the time they resume classes on April 9 the ground may again be in view (it already is where the steam pipes cross the campus) or, the way things are going, there may be an even higher pile of snow to accentuate the tans of those who romped in sunny climes.
