Richard W. Lippman '42, head agent, was honored with the 1955 Harvey P. Hood Trophy at the Alumni Fund dinner in Philadelphia in late March. This award, for the outstanding head agent of a class eleven to 25 years out of college, was presented with the following citation:
Richard W. Lippman, Head Class Agent of 1942: over the past three Alumni Fund campaigns you have led the Class of 1942 to a position of consistent excellence among contemporary classes. Your superlative leadership has won three consecutive Green Derby triumphs for 1942, a feat seldom accomplished by any class or any agent. To do this in the face of stiffening competition has required steady improvement in 1942's record, and improvement you have mustered in both participation and dollars. In three years 1942's contributor total has grown from 417 to 452, and its dollar results from $7,041 to $9,407. Dartmouth is proud and appreciative of your achievement, and the Alumni Fund Committee is glad to record its estimate of you as the outstanding head agent of a class eleven to twenty-five years out of college in the 1955 Alumni Fund by presenting you the Harvey P. Hood Trophy.
