The Dartmouth Rowing Club crews are hard at work under the tutelage of new head coach Pete Gardner. Although no fall meets are scheduled, enthusiasm is high and another fine spring season is in the making.

The Boxing Club also has started again in Corey Ford's off-campus gymnasium and the club reports an excellent turnout. Wrestling, which had a most successful season last year, its first under the DCAC regime, also starts this month, but the loss of Coach Frank Kapral presents a real problem to the team.

Perhaps the fastest growing sport on campus - rugby - got away to a fine start with a 24-0 win over M.I.T. Undefeated all last fall and winner of four Bermuda Week Cups, the Dartmouth team again has excellent prospects this year. Coach and Captain Barry Stompe has some experienced lettermen back, with Dave Farfan, Al Brown and Jim Perry at Scrum and John Hessler, Mike Miller and Chuck Solms in the backfield. The Big Green meets Harvard, M.I.T., the New York Rugby Club, a team from Westmount, Canada, and Princeton this fall. Alumni are urged to watch the rugby team in action before the DartmouthCornell football game in Hanover or the Dartmouth-Princeton football game at Princeton.

The Dartmouth freshman football team got away to a rocky start as they lost the opener to powerful Holy Cross, 32-14. However, the Pea Green contingent overwhelmed Brown 28-6 in their second encounter. Harvard, Yale and New Hampshire remain on the schedule. The present freshman lineup has Len DiSavino directing the team at quarterback with Al Rozycki and Skip Johnson at halfback and Dick Marone at fullback. Bill Glenn and Tom Hickey are the starting ends, Doug Freeman and Mike Mooney are at tackle, Ken DeHaven and Bob Nagele at the guard spots, and John McElhinney at center.
