First some items "that got squeezed out last month:

Dave Hilton T'52 was honored by the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee in August as the leading agent in the U. S. for first-year men.

Two alumni recently elected: Allan Clow T'31, vice-president (for marketing) of the American Cyanamid Company, and John Zimmerman T'33, executive vice-president in charge of the G.MA.C. financial staff. Alumni in new jobs include:

Jim Crawford T'49, now a senior systems analyst in the corporate division of Olin Mathieson Chemical Corporation in New York.

Jack Ulrich T'49, new account executive for Doherty, Clifford, Steers & Shenfield, Inc.

Jack Misner T'55, from the Air Force to the Industrial Relations Department of Hussmann Refrigerator Company, St. Louis.

Wood Sutton T'57, trainee in the manufacturing division of Cummins Engine Company, Columbus, Ind.

Bryan Van Arkadie T'57, instructor in economics at Dartmouth.

And did you know that Ort Hicks Jr. T'50 is assistant cultural affairs officer at the American Embassy in Oslo?

The first "businessman on sabbatical" at Tuck is James M. Olivier (pronounced "Oliver"), personnel assistant at the Hanover Bank, New York. Mr. Olivier, who has bachelor's and master's degrees from New York University, will spend the first semester with us, at his employer's expense. He'll lecture to some classes, audit others.

If you haven't already seen it, you might want to get hold of the series on Tuck that ran in The Christian Science Monitor September 17 to 21. The articles were by President Dickey, Dean Quinn (two), George O'Connell of the Dartmouth News Service, and Dean Hill. They told of Tuck's background, research program, curriculum, alumni and philosophy.

Perley Merry T'27 is now sales manager of Henry S. Wolkins, the second largest school-supply and equipment house in New England. "Having an exclusive account (or none) in each town is a new experience for me," he writes.

Vice-presidential department: Jack Grimm '44, formerly v-p in charge of marketing for the J. B. Williams Company, is now a v-p in the national-brands division of Sterling Drug, 1nc.... and Paul Caravatt T'47 is now a v-p at Ogilvy, Benson & Mather, Inc., where he had been an account executive.

Three moving stories: Bob Castle T'50 has moved from J. Walter Thompson to the Ted Bates Company. His 71½ years at Thompson were "not only pleasant, but most rewarding," but he's dedicated to package-goods accounts, which Bates handles nothing else but...Sherm Clough Jr. T'51 is moving within the GE organization. The first of the year he's going to Boston to do marketing research for the New England District of GE's Apparatus Sales Division - and he's "very pleased and excited" about it.... And Marshall Clark T'48 has moved from the advertising directorship of Scott Paper to be resident coordinator for Scott's English affiliate, Bowater-Scott Corp., Ltd.

Spike Hicks T'56 is contributing greatly to the General Mills sales boom in the Chicago area.

And John Brinckerhoff T'57, selling Vick products around Arkansas, is also a partner in a new automobile-importing business, which will distribute the French racing-sports car DB (for Deutsch-Bonnet) in the United States. The car, he reports, "has won many big races, such as Mille Miglia, Le Mans and Sebring, and is a consistent winner in its class."

Dean Hill and Mr. Griswold met in New York with research-committee chairmen on the CED study of corporate financing and institutional investment; while there they talked with Charles McGoughran '20, chairman of an Overseer-faculty committee that will soon start a full-scale review of Tuck operations. The dean also attended a con- ference on "New Knowledge in Human Values" at MIT.

Mr. Olsen took part in a symposium on "New Concepts and Techniques in Administration" at the annual meeting of the American Hospital Association in Atlantic City October i to 3 ... Mr. Morrissey attended an "Advanced Financial Seminar in Budget and Measurements" sponsored by GE in New York September 30 to October 4.

" Mr. Lent spoke to the Worcester Sales Executives Club October 21 on the business outlook, and to a graduate seminar in economics at Clark University the following day...Mr. Burger spoke on writing at an American Management Association finance orientation seminar in New York October 4.

Mr. Foster's "Corporate Debt and the Stockholder" has been reprinted in "The Controller" and, somewhat paraphrased, in "Management Digest." Mr. Griswold's cashflow chart also was reprinted recently in "Management Digest" - without credit.

Messrs. Frey and Davis reported the results of their nationwide analysis of advertiser-agency-media relationships to advertising, agency and media executives October 3°.

Mr. Angelo, playing with John Sweetland '49 of Hanover, and Mr. Burger, playing with Gordon Leland of Meriden, qualified October 5 for the New Hampshire State Bridge Tournament, to be played in the spring.
