PRESIDENT DICKEY will be the main speaker at four Alumni Fund Class Agent dinners being held in March to kick-off the 1957 Alumni Fund campaign, which opens officially on April 1.
These dinners are scheduled at the University Club in Chicago on Tuesday, March 19; the Union Club in Cleveland on Wednesday, March 20; the University Club in Boston on Wednesday, March 27; and the Union League Club in New York on Thursday, March 28.
Invitations to these dinners will be sent in early March to some 2,000 Alumni Fund workers as well as to class presidents and chairmen, class secretaries and class newsletter editors.
In addition to President Dickey's talk, the 1957 Alumni Fund chairman, William G. Morton '28, will report on campaign plans and strategy and Nichol M. Sandoe Jr. '45, executive secretary, will also speak briefly.
The 1957 Alumni Fund seeks $865,000, approximately the amount realized in the 1956 campaign, with $700,000 being sought from alumni, $60,000 from Dartmouth parents, and the balance coming from Memorial Fund income and other gifts. If the 1957 goal is realized, $720,000 will be allocated to help meet current College operating expenses and, after campaign expenses are met, the balance of $80,000 applied in the critical area of faculty and staff compensation.
