The Dartmouth Club of Mohawk Valley, with headquarters in Utica, New York, was host to Dean of Freshmen, Albert I. Dickerson '30, at a luncheon meeting on December 28. The meeting was held at the Fort Schuyler Club, and was presided over by Wallace B. Owens '46, club president.
In view of Mr. Dickerson's being Dean of Freshmen, special attention was given by the club members to extending invitations to both prospective Dartmouth men from local high schools, and to local guidance men and high school principals. We were rewarded by a good turnout, and the Dean gave a most interesting talk, dwelling especially on the matter of selecting the new freshmen each year from among the hundreds of applicants. This was of particular interest to our local interviewing committee, who have been very active in recent weeks, and who had just finished working with another representative of the College, Curt McKee.
A thirty-minute sound film entitled "Football Highlights of 1956" was shown, and closed out a very enjoyable three hours spent with Dean Dickerson. We sincerely hope that Utica, New York, may soon again receive some of that fresh and invigorating "green color."
