Davis Trophy Winner

At the annual meeting of the Class Officers in Hanover, May 3, the John H. Davis Jr. '25 Trophy, presented to the class having the largest dollar total in the Alumni Fund for last year, was awarded to Ford Whelden. Donald F. Sawyer '21, Vice Chairman of the Alumni Fund Committee, read the following citation:

Ford, your Class of 1925 and mine of 1921 have been friendly but tough competitors every time we have ever met in Green Derby Competition.

Regardless of who has won the Derby, no class has as yet been able to match 1925 in the dollar amount which it has contributed each year since the Davis Bowl has been placed in competition.

For your inspired leadership and dedication to the Dartmouth Cause which has resulted in your leading all classes for the third year in succession, I am delighted on behalf of the Alumni Fund Committee to award to the Class of 1925 once again possession of the Davis Bowl.
