Accompanied by my nurse I attended Commencement, the 70th anniversary of my graduation. Coming by train, we arrived at the Hanover Inn late Friday afternoon. The following forenoon my picture was taken on the lawn of the Inn with the member of Green Key assigned to me, Parker Borg '61 of Wayzata, Minn. At noon in a wheel chair provided by the Inn I was taken to the gymnasium for the annual luncheon, following which two members of the Green Key carried me to the top floor of the gymnasium and placed me in a front seat for the exercises to be held there. At the beginning the Secretary of the College, Sidney C. Hayward '26, asked me to rise as being the oldest graduate present observing the 70th anniversary of his graduation and I was given an ovation by an audience that filled the room.

While at the Inn our meals were served in the main dining room, and among the many who came to our table to see me were John Meek '33, treasurer of the College, and Harvey P. Hood '18, a member of the Board of Trustees. Sunday forenoon the Green Key member took me in a wheel chair to the front row seats assigned to us for the Commencement Exercises, consisting of the conferring of degrees and the Commencement and Baccalaureate Address by Charles Habib Malik, President of United Nations General Assembly.
