The annual dinner meeting of the Central Florida Club was held Monday evening, February 16 in the Treetop Room of the Langford Hotel, Winter Park, Fla. Attended by about 85, including alumni, alumni wives, and the parents of some present undergraduates, this dinner represented the kickoff of the Capital Gifts Campaign in this area.

Presiding over the short business meeting of the evening was John Tiedtke '30, 1958 Club President. During the meeting, officers and directors were elected for the current year. Elected were: Jim Thomas '40, President; Joe Robinson '32, Vice-President and Malcolm F. Scott '41, Secretary-Treasurer. Directors named included John Tiedtke '30,Hugh Schwarz '40, Dick Proctor '43, JackZimmer '42, Don Cheney '11, Dave Cotton'49 and Louis Ingram '26.

Highlight of the evening was the showing of the new Dartmouth film, most ably supported by an engaging talk by Dean Jensen. The full meaning and importance of the Development Program was clearly outlined by Dean Jensen and made a perfect "launching pad" for our Central Florida campaign efforts.

A sudden illness prevented Ambassador Ellis Briggs '21 from attending a luncheon given inhis honor in Rio de Janeiro in March. Alumni and wives present were (front row, l to r):Gladys Doten, Joan Marchese, Lucy Briggs, Libbey Dewey and Dorothy Lindell.
