SIX Dartmouth seniors and one recent graduate have been awarded James B. Reynolds Scholarships for study in foreign countries next year. These scholarships, usually worth $2,000 each, are based upon a fund donated by James B. Reynolds of the Class of 1890. The holders are normally expected to pursue graduate studies at a foreign university and follow a definite program of study approved by the Committee on Fellowships and Prizes.

The scholarship winners and their fields are:

Howell D. Chickering '59, Hanover, N. H., will study Shakespeare and Elizabethan literature at the University of Edinburgh.

Sigmund D. Ginsberg '59, New York, N. Y., will study British public administration at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Robert W. Bailey '59, Flint, Mich., will study the creation and performance of piano music during the period 1800-50 in Germany.

Nicholas P. Monsour III '59, West Covina, Calif., will study Slavic history at the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies, King's College, University of London.

George A. Shipley '59, Alamogordo, N. M., will study Spanish literature at a university in Spain.

Robert Sussman '59, of Long Island City, N. Y„ will study English Literature at St. John's College, Oxford University.

The graduate winner is Robert A. Picken '56, now a Rhodes Scholar studying at St. John's College, Oxford. He was granted the Reynolds Scholarship to enable him to complete his doctoral thesis on "The Art of Saint-Simon" at Oxford.
