GIFTS to Dartmouth College by corporations amounted to 122,116 at the halfway mark of the current fiscal year.

Of this sum, $19,386 matched the gifts of Dartmouth alumni affiliated with 34 different corporations which have adopted gift-matching programs as part of their aid to educational institutions. This list of companies is topped by General Electric Company and International Business Machines Corporation.

General Motors Corporation's gift of $36,350 for scholarships and accompanying unrestricted grants was the largest single grant. Major gifts in this category were also received from The Procter and Gamble Fund, $8,320; Gulf Research and Development Company, $3,930; United States Steel Foundation, $7,200; and Eastman Kodak Company, $3,500.

An unrestricted grant of $10,000 was received from Chase Manhattan Bank Foundation. The Esso Educational Foundation made two grants of $5,000 each, one unrestricted and the other designated for use by the science and engineering departments.

During the period from July 1, 1959 to January 1, 1960, Dartmouth has received gifts from sixty corporations.
