Sixty-four alumni met at the Park Hotel in Plainfield on February 12 to hear Associate Dean Eugene Hotchkiss '50 talk on the duties of the Dean's office. After touching upon the role of the Liberal Arts College in modern education, he discussed the conduct of students on the campus. The latter proved not only interesting but highly provocative, as evidenced by the number of questions tossed at Gene from the floor following the more formal portion of his talk.

Prior to Gene's talk, Lou Wilcox '23, the President, conducted a short business meeting during which it was unanimously voted to change the name of the Club to the Tri-County Dartmouth Club of N.J. The three counties of New Jersey involved are Union, Middlesex, and Somerset. It was felt that the old name, Dartmouth Club of the Plainfields, which has been in existence since the Club was incorporated in 1931, was too restrictive and local in connotation. Chub Hetfield '3l was given the job of amending the certificate of incorporation to effect the change.
