On Tuesday, April 19, the Dartmouth Club of Georgia gathered at the Peachtree Golf Club for cocktails and dinner preceding a talk by Coach Bob Blackman. Guest coaches from Atlanta secondary schools were C. H. "Red" Emmert of Roosevelt High School, and Wayman Creel of Northside High School.
The program, following on the heels of the Glee Club Concert, has made the past few weeks active ones for local alumni. Those attending the dinner for Coach Blackman were Arthur "Jiggs" Donahue '15, John andRuth Hamilton '25, Al and Peggy Starrett'29, Bob and Loretta Bruce '30, Dick and Alyce Everett '40, Roger and Betty Antaya'44, Tad Robertson '45 (and his guest, Gloria Champion), Carl and Jan Evans '48, Gene Taylor '49 (and his guest, Marcia Hoole), Al Wrisley '50, Pierce McK.ee '51, Jim Swift '53, and Wallace Rogers '56.
The talk by Coach Blackman brought us up-to-date, not only on the progress and possibilities of the football team, but also on a multitude of the current activities on campus. It was a real pleasure to hear a man as poised and polished as Coach Blackman talk about subjects he so obviously loves: football and the college. We shared his feelings.
