A wild scene at the Ledyard Canoe Club on April 15 as the 40-man, intercollegiate canoe race started on its 218-mile course down the Connecticut River from Hanover to Long Island Sound. Not many finished. Pete Knight '62 and Jon Fairbank '62 of Dartmouth won.
