FRANCIS T. FENN JR. '37 of West Hartford, Conn., was elected president of the General Association of Dartmouth Alumni at its annual meeting held in Alumni Gymnasium on June 12. Founded in 1854, the Association now includes some 30,000 Dartmouth alumni.
Mr. Fenn was treasurer of his class for three years as well as president and secretary of the Dartmouth Club of Hartford. He established F. T. Fenn Jr. & Co., insurance firm, after graduating from college 24 years ago. In 1951 he became a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table of the National Association of Life Underwriters. He has twice been named Man of the Year by the National Life Insurance Co., for his service to policy holders and underwriting achievements.
Other Association officers elected for 1961-62 include three vice presidents, Francis H. Horan '22, New York City, Thomas G. Murdough '26, Evanston, Ill., and George I. Davis '28, Glens Falls, N. Y.; and secretary-treasurer, Sidney C. Hayward '26, Hanover, N. H.
M. Carter Strickland '29 of Oneida, N. Y., was elected chairman of the Association's executive committee. Other members of the committee include Henry B. Van Dyne '12, Troy, Pa.; Robert L. May '26, Evanston, Ill.; Leon C. Greene-baum '27, New York City; Hugh M. Chapin '47, Lexington, Mass.; John A. Van Raalte '48, Pleasantville, N. Y.; and Bernard J. Lewis '52, Portland, Maine.
