Norwich Bicentennial

To mark its Bicentennial, the Town of Norwich, Vt., has published a 56-page booklet, Some Pages of Norwich History. Marjorie Yule Butler served as editor and wrote the introductory chapter as well as two other chapters dealing with Norwich Village and The Red School House.

Allen R. Foley '20, Professor of History at Dartmouth, is also a principal author, with a long chapter on Norwich University and a shorter one on the May 16 celebration of Norwich University Day, when 250 cadets from the present university at North-field, Vt., paraded in the town. The booklet also contains the words of the Norwich Bicentennial Song written by Professor Foley.

Others who contributed chapters to the Norwich book are Helen Bicknell Thomas, Garey and Dorothy Waterman, Louise Coleman Johnson, and Stella Sears.
