Secretary, 120 Franklin St., Denver, Colo. 80218

A gay group of 114, including understanding and beautiful wives, gathered at the Denver Country Club April 22 for the cup that really cheered and a delicious dinner of Colorado steak to get in the proper mood for the annual meeting.

To save time President Jim Swanson '59 called for reports from the various committees during dessert. Bob Halbert '59, to everyone's surprise, announced the treasury to be in unusually good shape. Monte Pascoe '57 allowed we should be doing much better on the Third Century Fund as at last report Colorado had made but 63% of quota. Silent Don McMichael '53 gave a peroration on the trials and tribulations of conducting a ski meet for high school boys. Jerry Samuelson '55 said the College had only accepted 24 of Colorado's finest this year. Don Jones '43 and his committee was given a big hand for their fine job in promoting a flawless Glee Club concert attended by an enthusiastic audience of more than nine hundred. President Jim called Don to the podium and presented him with a suitably inscribed plaque whereupon Don was given a standing ovation. Bob Fullerton'51 was next called upon to give the clandestine selection of the nominating committee for the new officers for 1970-1971. They are President, Bob Montgomery '56; vice president, Pete Wells '63; treasurer Bob Halbert'59, and his assistant Jim Eldridge '62, secretary, Ev Parker '16 and Derry Trenholm'40 assistant. Trustees Len Waldbaum '63,Monte Pascoe '57, and Sky Cross '46.

Bob Graham '40, director of Information Services, introduced the Hanover scene. His talk was confined to the changes in the College physically and academically in the last few years. He dwelt particularly on the high mental caliber of the students as we have been capturing a much larger percentage of Rhodes and Woodrow Wilson scholars than our number of students would justify and the faculty their share of Guggenheim Fellowships.

Cliff Jordan '45, secretary of the Alumni Fund, who has been traveling with President Kemeny on his present trip, spoke on Kemeny, the man, and his plans aimed for better communications between students, faculty, and administration. Cliff's talk was convincing and heart-warming, renewing the everlasting concern for and love of the College.

The most enjoyable evening closed with "Men of Dartmouth" sung with gusto.

Discussing the 1970 Dartmouth Glee Club concert in Los Angeles, held at OccidentalCollege in March are (l to r) Eugene Givens '55, then president of the DartmouthClub of Southern California; British Consul General Andrew Franklin, representingLord Dartmouth; Richard C. Gilman '54, president of Occidental; Robert L. ShirleyIII '64, Glee Club concert chairman and now vice president of the club; and H. FlintRanney '56, secretary.
