Sailing

The Dartmouth sailing team finished a respectable fourth in the First Annual Ivy League Sailing Championships held October 7 at Harvard. The trophy won by Harvard was donated by Bus Mosbacher '43, skipper of the successful America's Cup defender, Weatherly.

In other races this fall the sailing team was 11th in the Danmark Trophy Regatta, fourth in the Wood Trophy Race, and first in the Northern New England Championships held at Orono, Maine. The latter victory qualified the team for the Schell Trophy Race in which it finished ninth among eleven teams.

On board for the Ivy League Championships were Fred Doane, Cole Letteney, Steve Blecher, and Rich Miller. Blecher and Miller also competed at Orono as did Rick VanMell and Dick Bernstein.
