One of the oldest Dartmouth Alumni Associations in the nation became a formally organized club on 21 March 1966 with the formation of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Montana. William B. Roberts '44 was elected president, and John D. Tonkovich '59 was elected secretary-treasurer.

This organizational meeting was held at the Elbon Club, Great Falls, and was attended by Jim Stevens '50, Dartmouth's new comptroller, who was. the guest speaker. Also attending were parents of Dartmouth men.

Montana's Alumni Association has been active for over 65 years and during this period there was one year in which Montana had 27 undergraduates enrolled. At the present time there are 65 alumni living in Montana. Eleven applications for the Class of 1970 were processed and six were selected for admittance.
