An anonymous donor has given the College an oil and a gouache by Fernand Leger, oils by the German artist Ernest Wilhelm Nay and the American Arnold Blanch, and a lithograph by Picasso.
Professor Churchill P. Lathrop, director of acquisitions for the ever-growing Dartmouth collection of fine art, termed the new pictures "an important and generous gift to the art resources at Dartmouth. It continues a program of enrichment begun by this same donor in 1961."
Earlier gifts from this donor include twelve Leger paintings, the entire Vollard Suite of etchings by Picasso, oils by Jean Piaubert and Victor Vasarely, a watercolor by Kandinsky, and drawings by Kuniyoshi and Lachaise.
