On April 26 the Berkshire County Dartmouth Club gave a dinner for the six candidates in the County who had received acceptances to Dartmouth. This is the largest group that has been accepted in one class from this county. Also present at the dinner held at the Country Club were Richard Brooks of Sheffield and Milton Perkins of Pittsfield, fathers of two of the prospective freshmen.

Clifford Perkins from Pittsfield High School where he was active in athletics is a National Merit Scholarship finalist. David Brooks of Sheffield at Berkshire School participated in various extracurricular activities as did Richard D. Lamb from Drury High School in North Adams. Out-of-county boys who were chosen for Dartmouth include John D. Fitzsimmons from Cranwell School, Peter M. Etzel and Robert Mustard Jr. from Berkshire School.
