New Canaan

Our second annual Clambake brought together men whose classes spanned 1922 to 1962. While some of our alumni were attending their 10th and 20th reunions at Hanover, fifty-five of our Club members, their wives and their friends, assembled on our front lawn.

The weather was perfect, and the caldron of clams hit the spot. This culinary delight was topped off by a raffle—the monies being used exclusively for the Club's recruiting efforts. The prizes and winners included a rocking chair—Dick Weber ’52; dinner for two at Brock’s Steak House—Bart Lombardi ’52; two General Foods gift packs-Arthur Ostrander ’40; and an autographed copy of Dave Camerer’s (’37) book, “25th Reunion”—won by Ross Pearl ’25.

It was a particularly rewarding day because we had an opportunity to meet a few new area members; from Wilton—BartLombardi ’52, from Ridgefield—JohnReese ’62, Michael Schaefer ’62, and Bruce Jones ’43. We were also paid a visit by our nextdoor neighbor, Jack Gunther’29, a recent deserving recipient of the Dartmouth Alumni Award.
