New Alumni Directory Ready

The new Dartmouth Alumni Directory came out last month.

Compiling the directory, which includes some 35,000 names and addresses, has been made easier this year by the use of computer facilities on campus and Third Century Fund computer files.

Production of the volume has been more or less a family affair. The Dartmouth Printing Company, located in Hanover but not affiliated with the College, undertook the job. Mike Smith '57 is its president, Dave Hewitt '64 his assistant, and Rick Bowes '63 controller and manager of directory operations. Bru-El Graphic, the president of which is Bill Teare '53, did the typesetting.

The format is different in that the first section is an overall alphabetized list of all alumni, rather than separate class lists as before. The occupation code has been changed somewhat, to suit requirements of the computer, and one code—"en" for Environmental Control—has been added.
