Class Secretary of the Year
June 1974

Frederick Munkelt of 1908 was acclaimed Class Secretary of the Year last month at Class Officers Weekend in Hanover.

He received a framed painting of Dartmouth Row and a citation which began, "As fellow Class Secretaries in your venerable section of the Class Notes are well aware, Freddy, a light touch and a quantity of names in the news is not easy to maintain. This you have managed to accomplish in the past five years you have served as 1909's Secretary despite bereavement and a move from your Montpelier residence of 22 years."

A chronicle of Fred's undergraduate time, including his election to Phi Beta Kappa, and some details of his career, ends,

"For your continuous, conscientious contributions to the 1908 column we salute you . . . on the eve of your 88th birthday and proclaim you Class Secretary of the Year."
