Edward Healey '18. an end on Dartmouth football teams in 1917 and 1919 who went on to become a great tackle for the Chicago Bears, has been elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in the pioneer category.
Healey, whose performance for the Bears also has earned him a place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will be honored by the National Football Foundation in New York City in December.
A resident of Niles, Mich., he has been a longtime friend of Notre Dame athletics and will be recognized along with three other Hall of Fame inductees with Notre Dame affiliation during halftime ceremonies of the Miami-Notre Dame game on October 26.
Healy will be the ninth player or coach associated with Dartmouth football to be inducted into the College Hall of Fame.
