I have just spent the weekend at Dartmouth. There's nothing like two days in Hanover (other than three days or longer!) to renew one's appreciation for the beauty and tranquility of our wonderful campus. As part of the weekend, I attended a meeting for class secretaries, so I now have several schemes to stimulate some correspondence from all of you - so be prepared for the onslaught next year. Or better yet, to stave it off just write now to avoid the rush.

President McLaughlin made a very impressive speech about establishing some important business practices for the College setting priorities, consolidating activities, creating strong leadership at the top. He set up a major objective for the College to rebuild a sense of community between the faculty, students, administration, and the residents of Hanover. He demonstrated his creativity by announcing the first public offering to fund low-cost loans to students to make up for funds lost because of cutbacks by the Reagan administration.

Just two members of the class besides myself were there, unless we want to include Bob Czelusniak '59 as part of us. Gene and Judy Kohn were there, lamenting the fact that their daughter would be graduating soon and had an apartment, but so far no job. Gene is still wheeling and dealing in some exciting plans that I can't divulge, using Dokter Pet Centers as a base of operation. Phil Kron, who was also there, managed to play 36 holes of golf in just over 24 hours. He has been busy testifying in Congress on the matter of financing utility nuclear facilities, under-insurance in the utility industry, and questions of safety in nuclear operations. He has gained his experience as the lead banker for General Public Utilities, which had the Three Mile Island disaster. Tom Riley had his daughter representing him as a member of the Glee Club which, by the way, gave an outstanding performance during the weekend. 1 should also mention Gordie DeWitt, who was on the scene because he resides in Hanover. Gordie is the person in the administration responsible for the construction of all the new buildings on campus, and he has the glazed, healthy look you would expect from someone living in such idyllic surroundings.

Some quick news on some other classmates. A 1 Roberts has just been named New York regional partner for Arthur Young, quite an impressive position for someone "our" .age. Dave Lodge has taken a position at Adams, Harkness and Hijl, a very fine regional brokerage firm in Boston and, according to Gene, is commuting from the Cape. Other Boston residents to report on are Bob Becker, who was appointed executive vice president of Essex Bank, and Dick Davidson, who has two family members graduating this year his daughter from Dartmouth a"~ and his wife from Stonehill. Congrats to both grads and to Dick for being able to afford it!

Spence Morgan reports chat Donald and Mary Stoddard are vacationing in the Virgin Islands and that Bob Daly '6l will be going to Europe soon and letting Spence use their house in Boston. Jack Hodgson and Dave Harrison are about to compete, or may have already done so, in their annual race that includes crosscountry skiing, sailing, and canoeing. Only in Seattle can one participate in all of these sports at one time of year.

Let me close on a note that Bob Phillips would be proud of. A very effective plea was made by Ad Winship '42, vice president for alumni affairs and development, in talking about the incredible success of the S2OO-million Campaign for Dartmouth. He said that no one of us should ever have to say to ourselves, "I wish I had done more." Please give now and up co your capabilities.
