In a new approach to try and step up communications between individual class members and the class leadership, President Gene Kohn and other members of the executive committee are setting up personal meetings throughout the country. Subjects of discussion at these sessions have been wide-ranging but have usually included getting an update on personal developments, consideration of our upcoming 25th reunion, and a review of the class of 1960's long-standing history as a leader in Alumni Fund giving.
On February 2, a Connecticut Valley contingent met at Connecticut General in Hartford, with Rick Lyman acting as host at a very economical steak luncheon. Local attendees were Peter Schwartz, Harold Harris, Rog Hamlon, John Tully, and Marty Budd. Cai Raber had hoped to attend, but rumor has it he was exploring more fertile fields in the Garden State.
Marty Lower arrived late from Boston after a morning of negotiations on the purchase of a new business located in Ludlow, Mass. Marty indicated that he felt right at home with his new group of neighbors.
On February 24, Gene and Judy Kohn gave what was billed as a beer and pretzels blast but turned out to be a full-fledged cocktail party. This meeting brought together Tom Riley, Marty Lower, Bob Kennerson, DickDavidson, Bob Armknecht, and Bill Watson, who arrived later in the evening, using a recent job change to excuse himself for not being able to find Quinobegquin Road (Gene's address). Bill is now heading up Far East operations for First National Bank of Boston.
Michael O'Keefe reports that his son Gerald is one of the top-ranked high school wrestlers in Florida. He is in the 102-pound weight class, which is reserved mainly for recent immigrants from Third World countries appropriate in his case, since he was born in Panama.
