Sturges Dorrance has lived up to the early promise he showed at WDCR and then some. This spring he was named vice president and general manager of King TV, the Seattle affiliate of the National Broadcasing Company. He had been general sales manager for King TV since 1977, and has been with King Broadcasting since 1966. Before that, as some of you may recall, he had been a news reporter for WMCA in New York, and, while serving in the Army, was station manager for Armed Forces Radio in Saigon. His wife Pam is public relations director for the Seattle Opera, and they now have four daughters.
From Racine, Wise., comes the news that Bob Nassau has been named executive vice president of J.I. Case Company's worldwide agricultural equipment operations. Bob had been senior vice president for marketing, purchasing, and corporate planning of the company, which is a subsidiary of Tenneco. He has been with Case since September 1980, and had been with Ford Motor Company before that.
Jim Friedman was recently appointed to the Cleveland Citizens League Committee on Ohio Tax Policy. Jim is a partner in the law firm of Guren, Merritt, Feibel, Sogg & Cohen.
The latest word from Tom Berger, professor of English at St. Lawrence University, is that he has been appointed a fellow of the Huntington Library in San Marino, Calif. The two-month summer appointment will enable Tom to carry on his preparation of the Variorum edition of Shakesepare's Henry V. The edition is one of a prestigious series that will become the ultimate reference edition of Shakespeare s works. Tom has been working on the project for the past five years and expects it will take another seven to eight years to complete.
Jerome Herlihy married the former Mary Ann Hoff in Wilmington, Del., last February. His wife is an attorney with the state public defender's office. Among those attending the wedding was Mike Jarvis, who is now a doctor in Tacoma, Wash., and, according to Jerome's report, "in good spirits and good health." Jerome himself chairs the State Republican Committee in Delaware and was recently elected the head of the organization of the state Republican chairmen in the northeast a sort of chairman of chairmen, it seems.
