Almost 200 members of the class of 1965 returned with families and friends to our 25th ReunionJune 11-14. The class tent was full until the wee hours of the morning, with much discussion about "the roads taken" and a few that weren't.

Thanks to co-chairmen Jack Herney and Rick Mahoney and the able assistance of their reunion committee especially DickDurrance for his slide show we all remember the reunion as the most exciting event in the last quarter century.

Congratulations to Head Agent BruceWagner and 25th Reunion Giving Chairman Steve Waterhouse and their committee for raising more than $1.25 million, putting '65 in fourth place on the all-time giving list.

Classmates arriving at the registration tent on Thursday were greeted by Rick Mahoney with name tags, tickets, programs, and a tote bag to carry them in. That evening the College hosted a dinner in honor of the 25-year class in Thayer Hall (no food fights this time), followed by Nostalgia Night with Al Green at the Hop. Of special interest were the recently uncovered murals in the basement of Thayer Hall.

Rousted out of our Gold Coast dorm beds by a dog fight Friday morning, we watched Rob Stafford win the 1965 mini-marathon (2.6 miles), closely followed by Rick Davey and Ron Knapp. Clyde Dietz finished dead last. Enjoying delightful weather, the class picnicked at Storrs Pond, paraded to the Berry Sports Center for alumni dinner, visited with President and Mrs. Freedman in their garden, and danced to nostalgia music in Alumni Hall.

For the outdoor types Saturday offered a hike up Mt. Moosilauke, a row on the Connecticut, and Field Day at Memorial Field organized by Bob McConnaughey. After dinner at Thompson Arena, Brian Porzales's theatrical talents brought us a performance by "For Play," 1989 cabaret group of the year.

Among all these activities and events, Rick Beams and Dave Weber presented three excellent panels, hosted by Dartmouth faculty members.

The class memorial service was conducted in Rollins Chapel by Rabbi and Chaplain Daniel Siegel, in memory of 48 deceased classmates.

At the class meeting a new slate of officers presented by Steven Waterhouse, chairman of the nominating committee, was elected. These are: president, Alan Zern; vice president, Hank Amon; treasurer, Steve Waterhouse; secretary, Robbie Robinson; newsletter editor, Bruce Jolly; Alumni Councilor, Bill Webster; head agent, Ted Bracken; bequest chairman, Joel Sternman; and mini-reunion chairman, Jim Griffiths.

Some things change and some don't. Twenty-nine years ago freshman JohnGlovsky moved into 108 North Wigwam. At his 2 5 th Reunion he moved into the same room but it's now Hinman Hall. RogerRines returned to Bones Gate for a night of beer pong and discovered you can't win playing with bifocals.
