When you read this column (guest-edited by Tonks), a number of class-related events will have occurred which will be reported on here and in John Pilling's newsletter. First, Dartmouth Night and Homecoming Weekend brought a number of classmates to Hanover, and our Class of the Year honors (young class category) gave the class and John Engelman's convertible a distinguished place up front in the Dartmouth Night parade. The mini-reunion gathering post-game saw many old friends from our class, as well as '67 and '69. More on that later. Then, prior to die Harvard game, the class executive and the 25th Reunion committees met under the Dartmouth tent by Harvard stadium, and minutes of that meeting will be condensed in the newsletter, along with growing news of the 25th Reunion. Then, the gala celebration at Lincoln Center in November, at which a new Dartmouth film, Mentors, was premiered (in which Tonks had a modest production role, with all due apologies to one of our own successful filmmakers, W.D. Richter and his justreleased movie Late for Dinner), while a number of alumni and their mentors were honored with the inaugural awarding of the Presidential Medal for Leadership & Achievement. Chris Meigher was the lone '68 so honored (along with his now-deceased mentor, and friend to so many of us, Prof. Jim Epperson), and from the stage of Avery Fisher Hall, Chris represented all '68s who work and play and achieve for self, family, career, community, and society. Send some news to Parker of your own work and play! And Happy Holidays!
